love you to the moon and back baby shower

moon and stars baby showerA few weeks after my brother and sister-in-law welcomed my newest niece, Miss Josie, into the world (and while my sister Jordan was still in town), we had a twinkle-y, star speckled “Love you to the moon and back,” baby shower for them.

Well, I guess it was technically a Sip ‘n See since Josie had already made her appearance.

So, really, a great time all around.

moon and stars shower menuDinner was a burrito bar- sweet pork and Pioneer Woman BBQ chicken with all sorts of toppings (somehow didn’t get a single picture…). We made a whole buffet of detox waters in mason jars to pair with the burrito-y goodness. As a sidenote, I loved those detox waters so much that I just keep making the lemon/cucumber/mint water (ever since this party, there is always some in my fridge- if you ever stop by my house, ask to try some).

The shower decor was pretty, and simple (love that combo).

love you to the moon and back baby showerAnd the best part of the night? Josie’s doting fan club. That baby girl has no shortage of devoted followers, that’s for sure (Piper Jane, Burke and my dad were all vying for her attention, as always).

love you to the moon and back baby showerWelcome to the family, Little Missy! You haven’t been around long, but we love you to the moon and back already!

Oh I love this shower!!! My sis-in-law and her husband are going to start the adoption process this summer, and someday she’d like to have a twinkle-twinkle-little-star themed nursery, so this would be such a fun shower to throw for her!! And congrats on the new site! It looks great!

Jill, I LOVE that they are adopting! From where? Adam and I are starting our adoption paperwork too (though, it’s taking us forever, so who knows when we’ll actually get it finished). :)
And love the twinkle twinkle theme… what a great idea!
ps- Thanks for the kind words, friend! :)

They’re doing a domestic adoption. They’ve been trying to get pregnant for a few years now and have now come to grips with infertility. I just keep praying that someone will know someone who needs their baby to be adopted and they can bypass all the huge costs of going through an agency or lawyer since they’re determined to do it debt free, and will begin saving this summer. I’m so proud of them and can’t wait to meet this baby that God has called to be my niece or nephew.
Yay for you guys starting the adoption process!!!!

Jill, I love that for them!
Adam’s brother was in a similar situation- they actually had given all of the paperwork to an agency when they were connected to a girl that wanted to put her baby up for adoption (my niece Hannah!). :) I will be praying that they find someone like that!
And we are pretty excited… I think we have a little while before we even finish our initial paperwork…

This is so sweet and light and beautiful! Did they take any/all of the decorations to sprinkle around the nursery? I would have! We love that book, it’s a classic.

There is just something so sweet about moons/stars/clouds/sun for babies, right? Don’t know why, it just works just right.
